Based on the analysis of historical production and usage records, it is estimated that about 50% of the obsolete pesticides on the globe are located in the Eastern Europe-Caucasus-Central Asia (EECCA) region.
Experience shows that initial assessments of the amount of obsolete pesticides located on a country’s territory grow over time because of better inventories and new finds. The latest compilation of data for EECCA countries has been done in September 2011 during the IHP Forum in Gabala (Azerbaijan). The information presented below is based on interviews held with country representatives as well as on information compiled from country presentations and has been prepared by the IHPA to the best of its knowledge. The data, however, do not present an official country statement. It would be of great help to receive updates or remarks. Please send those to: john.vijgen (at) ihpa.info
